Protective style: Crochet twists

I'm always looking for new ways to style my hair. And with this Alabama summer in full effect, I'm leaning more and more on protective styles. Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate HATE sew ins. They make my head hurt... literally. And they are so expensive! (I'm in grad school, so yes I'm a broke chick). I like the look of braids and twists, but who has time to sit in a chair for hours on end, plus they usually kill your edges. So I looked through YouTube and Pinterest for some simple, CHEAP hairstyles that will protect my hair from this fiery, humid summer air. And I came across crochet twists... I decided to give it a try and I'm in love!!! It only took an hour and a half to install, it doesn't pull on my edges, and they are so cute! Here's the video tutorial that I used and an after pic to show how they look. If you're looking for a fun, easy, inexpensive style to rock this summer, check this out!

I used four packs of Noir Afro twist braid in #2... Unfortunately, they were a little more expensive than what she said in the tutorial. They were $9.99 a pack. Still, I got a cute protective style for $40! You can't beat that... I will post in a few weeks to see how they hold up :-)
