Wash and Go

Since I've been natural, I've always avoided "wash and go's." Who came up with the name? You literally CANNOT just go after you wash your hair. It's too much trouble for me, and my shrinkage is out of control! I figured I would try it this week since I bought a new product. I have been hearing great things about the Maui Moisture Coconut Oil Curl Smoothie so I wanted to see how it would work on a wash and go. I paired it with my go-to sealant: The Mane Choice Daily Hair Butter.

I recommend you do this on wash day, when you don't have anywhere to go because you'll be looking crazy! So these are the steps to my recent wash and go:

1. I washed and conditioned my hair.
2. While it was still wet, I slathered on the Maui Moisture (use GENEROUSLY!). I brushed the product through, and applied The Mane Choice butter. Make sure you section your hair so all of your strands get enough product.
3. Next, I wrapped two rubber bands around each section of hair, leaving the ends free so they would remain curly.
4. I let my hair dry overnight. Make sure the hair is completely dry before taking out the rubber bands, otherwise your hair will shrink throughout the day.

Overall, I like my results. My hair is stretched and moisturized. It's not as defined as I would like, but a little frizz never hurt anyone! What Maui Moisture products have you tried? What do you recommend? I would love to hear from you!
